Lake Limestone Report

BASTROP: Water stained; 82 degrees; Black bass to 4 pounds are good on tailspinners, crankbaits, and worms. Crappie are slow on minnows and jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on punchbait and doughbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

BELTON: Water slightly murky; 82 degrees; 594.18'; Black bass to 3 pounds are slow on topwaters, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and soft plastics. Hybrid striper are fair on gizzard shad in 38 - 40 feet. White bass are good on slabs, spoons, shad, and minnows. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on stinkbait and minnows. Yellow catfish are slow on trotlines baited with live perch.

BROWNWOOD: Water murky; 81 degrees; Black bass are good on white and chartreuse Rat-L-Traps and Carolina-rigged soft plastics in 15 - 20 feet. Striped bass are good on striper jigs and white Rat-L-Traps in 15 - 20 feet. White bass are good on shad and jigs in 15 - 20 feet. Crappie to 10 inches are good on live minnows and tube jigs in 10 - 20 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on chicken livers, shad and nightcrawlers in 15 - 25 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

BUCHANAN: Water clear; 84 degrees; 1015.30'; Black bass are fair on 2" Chug Bugs, white/chartreuse 1/8oz. Tiny-T buzzbaits, and wacky rigged Scoundrel worms along points in 4 - 8 feet very early. Striped bass are fair to good drifting live bait or trolling Curb's striper jigs and vertically jigging 1/2oz. Pirk Minnows from Flag Island to the dam in 28 - 40 feet. White bass are fair trolling Shad Raps on lead line and casting 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads or Tiny Traps. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are very good on liver, worms and punchbait. Flathead and blue catfish are good on trotlines and juglines.

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 84 degrees; 908.38'; Black bass to 6 pounds are good on Pop R's and silver buzzbaits at daylight and dusk in 3 - 6 feet and later on watermelon 4" Disc Worms along bluffs in 10 - 20 feet. Striped bass are fair on live perch and goldfish over humps at night in 50 feet. White bass are slow with an early morning bite on clear Rat-L-Tops, Tiny Traps and 3" white BBB grubs. Smallmouth bass are fair on Devil's Tongues on split shot rigs, 3" Super Tubes and 4" Sliding Weight Craw Fish along deep points in 10 - 20 feet. Channel catfish to 4 pounds are good on minnows, liver and punchbait. Yellow and blue catfish are very good on goldfish, crawfish and perch on trotlines.

COLEMAN: Water clear; lake at record; All boat ramps are closed.

COLORADO RIVER: (At Colorado Bend State Park) Water murky; Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are very good on perch on trotlines, good on rod and reel. Yellow catfish are very good on perch on trotlines, good on rod and reel.

DECKER (WALTER E. LONG): Water slightly murky; 85 degrees on cool side, 89 on hot side; Black bass are very good on Carolina-rigged soft plastics. Hybrid striper are very good on shad and shrimp. White bass are fair. Crappie are good on minnows. Drum are excellent on crawfish. Channel and blue catfish are very good on shrimp, punchbait, and nightcrawlers. Yellow catfish to 30 pounds are good on perch.

FAYETTE: Water stained; 79 degrees; Black bass to 4 pounds are fair on Texas and Carolina-rigged tequila sunrise soft plastics in 18 - 22 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on liver, stinkbait, and cheesebait.

GRANBURY: Water stained; 82 degrees; 692.32'; Black bass to 6 pounds are good on 2" gizzard shad 10 feet deep off windy points in 20 - 25 feet. Striped bass to 7 pounds are good vertically jigging live bait and trolling crankbaits in 20 - 30 feet. White bass are good on slab spoons, crankbaits and spinnerbaits along main lake points. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on liver, minnows, and cheesebait in 15 -25 feet. Yellow catfish are fair on live perch and on trotlines in 20 - 40 feet.

GRANGER: Water clear; 86 degrees; 505.47'; Black bass to 3 pounds are slow on minnows. White bass are schooling on top -- majority are undersized. Crappie to 2 pounds are good on marabou jigs tipped with Berkley Power Nibbles. Channel and blue catfish are fair in shallow water on prepared baits. Yellow catfish are slow.

LBJ: Water stained; 84 degrees; 824.80'; Largemouth bass to 5 pounds are good on black 1/4oz. Terminator buzzbaits, topwaters, and Sliding Weight Craw Fish worked along the edge of rip rap at night around docks and points. Striped bass are fair on live perch, Rat-L-Traps and Lit'l Fishie Shads in the shoals below Inks Dam very early. White bass are good on 1/32oz. Curb's Crappie Jigs and 1-1/2" Lit'l Fishies at night. Crappie are fair to good at night on Curb's Crappie Jigs. Channel catfish are very good on minnows, liver and worms. Yellow and blue catfish are good on perch on jug lines.

LAKE LIMESTONE: Water slightly murky; 53 degrees; Bass are slow on topwaters, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and soft plastics.  White bass are good on slabs, spoons, shad, and minnows. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs by the trees and by the bridge. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait and minnows. Yellow catfish are slow on trotlines baited with live perch.

NAVARRO MILLS: Water muddy; 424.81'; Black bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows near the dam early. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

PROCTOR: Water murky; 78 degrees; 1160.06'; Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shad and perch. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch and shad.

SOMERVILLE: Water murky; 237.84'; Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappies are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on worms and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

SQUAW CREEK: The lake has been closed until further notice.

STILLHOUSE: Water clear; 82 degrees; 623'; Black bass to 6 pounds are excellent on chartreuse or black Carolina-rigged soft plastics. White bass are good on minnows and Sluggos in 30 - 40 feet. Crappie are good on minnows in 30 - 40 feet. Channel and blue catfish to 13 pounds are good on shrimp, chicken livers, and minnows. Yellow catfish are slow.

TRAVIS: Water clear; 84 degrees; 670.21'; Black bass to 3 pounds are fair on PJ Pop's and red shad Power Worms in 10 - 20 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass to 1 pound are fair on chrome Rat-L-Traps and smoke grubs off points in 8 - 22 feet. Crappie to 1 pound are fair on white tube jigs and small minnows under docks in 10 - 22 feet. Channel and blue catfish to 6 pounds are fair on bait shrimp and prepared baits in 18 - 35 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

WHITNEY: Water clear; 85 degrees; 533.16'; Black bass are good on small soft plastics in the shady cuts of the little and big rocky creeks along the deep, high bluffs. Striped bass to 17 pounds are excellent on 4 - 7" gizzard shad. White bass are fair to good in the Cedron Creek area. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are good on cheesebait on the dam side of the island in 16 feet.
